High-resolution printing has been carried out by high LPI (line per inch) and FM screening, however, recently, progress in CTP technology, which enables direct halftone generation on plate from data, combined with the use of screening software has made it relatively easier to put high-resolution printing to practical use.
Generally, ordinary process inks are used for high-resolution printing; however, in reality satisfactory results are not achieved in case of highly detailed printing of say 600 to 700 LPI. As the screen lines become finer the dot gain amount of ink also increases, which makes ink application more difficult than in conventional process printing. As a result, poor quality printing product of irregular consistency and poor gloss is produced.
Further, due to the thinning of the ink film ink-take of back cylinder increases and causes reversed trapping, which makes colors turbid. Various other problems, such as deterioration of halftone quality due to excessive emulsification caused by over supply of water, and blanket piling, etc., occur.
"SuperTek Plus SOYA-HS" ink resolves all aforesaid problems.
■ Features
・Since the amount of ink applied in high-resolution printing is less, its consistency is higher than conventional inks and enables high consistency effects.
・Its ink vehicle constituents are adjusted to gain high gloss effects even with thin ink-film.
・Its consistency has been improved and set drying property adjusted to inhibit ink intake, which prevents reverse trapping and color turbidity. Set drying is a little slow, however, since its high consistency makes the ink film thin that does not become a problem.
・Its emulsification property is improved to deter deterioration of halftone quality due to excessive emulsification and to resolve blanket residual problem.
・The halftones in high LPI are very minute. Considering this the dot gain of this ink is suppressed to give excellent halftone reproduction and enable an easy color balance.
